Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Olney, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM (5x8)

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, and other certifications may be required based on unit assignment
• Licensure: Valid state RN license required prior to start
• References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 90 days including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Federal and state-level screenings as required
• Health Requirements:

  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year (with annual updates)
  • Required immunizations or titers: MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)

Competencies & Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher) within 3 years of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialty units (must meet specific scoring criteria and be updated annually)
• Color blindness testing (online or in-person) required
• Other competency exams as required by unit

Additional Information

• Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date
• Annual acknowledgment of safety manual and other facility policies
• Documentation/photo for badge required (clear, well-lit, no filters, solid background)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, education, license, and contact information required
• Skills checklist updated annually

This position offers an opportunity for RNs with at least 2 years of experience to work in an OR setting on a travel contract basis, with support for first-time travelers. Compliance with all health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory.
