Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Ambulatory Care) - Chicago, IL
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Ambulatory Care)
- Location: Chicago, Illinois
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Monday - Friday, 5x8 hour shifts (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekend Requirements: None
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Floating: Mandatory float within facility scope as needed
Role Description
- Work as an Ambulatory Care RN within the Oncology clinic (not as an Oncology RN).
- Serve as a Nurse Navigator/Care Management RN to assist with high volume of oncology patients and new referrals.
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required in specialty
- Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Licensing: Must have current RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
- Local Candidates: Only local candidates accepted (must live within 75 miles of the facility)
Time Off / Scheduling Notes
- Return to Office (RTO) allowed up to 5 days max, no more than 2 consecutive days
- No RTO on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after holidays
Facility & Work Environment
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Limited parking available; public transit highly recommended
- Floating is mandatory to meet facility needs
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, required annually
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if needed
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
Competency Exams (Required within 12 months of start)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
- Color Blind Testing (for starts after 1/16/24)
- General Competency Exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (preferred for ER RNs)
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
- Candidates must be prepared to float as needed within the facility.
- Local candidates only; no remote or out-of-area candidates accepted.
