Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Charge RN3) - Seattle, Washington
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Charge RN3)

- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 26
- Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts (0600-1630), possible weekends and holidays
- Patient Ratios: 1:1
- Floating: Required to float between Main Hospital, Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC), and Hernia Center
- Call Requirement: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Possible weekends and holidays
- Guaranteed Hours: Subject to census; may be called off or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift in a 2-week cycle
Experience & Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Preferred to have completed at least 2 travel assignments; first-time travelers may be considered
- Charge Nurse Experience: Must have prior charge nurse experience
- Supervisory Experience: Highly preferred
- Competencies: Must be competent in robotics
- Willingness to Train: Must be willing to train new hire RNs
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) — refer to unit-specific job descriptions
Licensure & Compliance
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 1 week
- Background Checks: 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start, including sex offender and state-specific searches
- Education Verification: Required (diploma/transcript acceptable for RNs)
- Primary Source Verification: Required for state license
- Other Compliance: Medication competency exams, color blindness testing, dysrhythmia/EKG competency, conscious sedation competency (if applicable)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required (within 1 year of start)
- Fit Mask Test: Required within 12 months of start (specific mask types preferred)
- Vaccinations/Immunizations:
- TDAP (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer plus vaccine series or declination form
- Varicella: Titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
- Flu Seasonal Vaccination or approved exemption/declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccination or declination (for tracking purposes)
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within one year of start (required by agency)
Additional Notes
- Scrub Color: Any color; scrubs provided for OR personnel
- Charting System: EPIC
- Parking: Monthly parking fee applies
- Training: Required to watch EPIC/Alaris integration video and complete attestation prior to start
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated unless otherwise stated
- Other: Must complete suicide prevention training if using a multi-state license from outside Washington
This position is at a Magnet, Teaching Center, Level 4 Trauma facility with 281 staffed beds.
