Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roswell, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Travel Experience: First-time travelers are welcome (no prior travel experience required)
• Shift: MS Days (Mid Shift Days)
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Patient Ratios: 1:6

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – as applicable
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – as applicable
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) – as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification – as applicable (expires annually)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – as applicable

Required Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online version accepted)
• Competency Exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors; annual completion required)

Licensure & Verification

• Primary source online verification of state license required
• NURSYS Verification required for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
• Education verification of highest level completed
• Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
• TB questionnaire for positive results (annual renewal)
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
• Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

• I9 form, Driver’s License/State ID, and E-Verify compliance
• Photo for badge
• Complete employment application/resume
• Unit-specific skills checklist (annual)
• 7-year work history verification
• References: Internal only; not required for clearance

Notes

• Fingerprinting must be completed onsite during orientation and renewed for every new contract.
• Travelers may attend orientation and EPIC training pending fingerprint clearance but cannot work until clearance is received.
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccine exemptions require facility review and approval.
• Behavioral Health RNs must have APNA eLearning Center certification for conducting face-to-face assessments in restraint or seclusion prior to start.

This position offers a travel contract opportunity with a reputable healthcare system in New Mexico, suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of experience and no prior travel experience required.
