Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan

Position Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (07:00 - 17:30)
- Call Requirements:
- 2 call shifts per week
- 2 weekend call shifts every 6 weeks
- Weekend Requirements: 2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule
- Holiday Requirements: Per unit rotation
- Floating Requirements: None
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience & Qualifications
- Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year (Certified Surgical Tech with experience in neuro, vascular, ortho, and outpatient procedures)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
- First-timers Accepted: Yes
- Locals Accepted: No, travelers must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
- State License: Pending state license accepted but must be active by start date
- Required Skills: Experience with XI DaVinci system required

- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- NIH Stroke Certification (Required for all RNs)
- Tech Cert Verification - National (as applicable per profession)
- State License Verification (as applicable)
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for Monitor Techs
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check required within 90 days of start, covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
- Physical exam required
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (2-step PPD or Qgold within 1 year; T-Spots not accepted)
- TB Questionnaire required prior to start and annually thereafter
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine/opiate)
- Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start (flu season October–May)
Additional Requirements
- Scrub color provided
- Charting system: CERNER
- COVID and Flu vaccine exemptions (medical or religious) must be submitted with appropriate documentation
- Facility-specific documents including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement required prior to start
- Passport-style photo with solid background required for badge
- Completion of facility modules (70-80 modules, approx. 8-10 hours) due prior to start; paid hours for completion provided
- On-site EKG exam required for Monitor Techs (not applicable for this role)
This position offers a structured schedule with guaranteed hours and requires a minimum of 1 year of surgical tech experience with specific procedural expertise and DaVinci system knowledge. First-time travelers are welcome, but candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility. All required certifications, health screenings, and background checks must be completed prior to start.
