Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Telemetry Unit
Location: Salem, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced RN with strong telemetry or intermediate care (IMC) experience to join the MS/Telemetry Float Pool team. The role involves floating within scope to meet facility needs, including coverage at a sister hospital.
Start Date
- January 5th or later only
Work Schedule & Ratios
- 12-hour shifts: 0700 - 1930
- Patient Ratios:
- RN: 1:4-6
- CNA: 1:6-13 (days), 1:10-13 (nights)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (not greater than every other)
- Floating: Required, including to West Valley Hospital
- Block scheduling: Not accommodated
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in MS/Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- No first-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience required)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) through AHA
- Experience with:
- Management of telemetry
- Interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
- Oxygen protocols
- Non-invasive airway management
- Peripheral line care/management
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Cardiac drips (nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone)
- Rapid response team activation
- Computerized documentation experience

Licensure & Compliance
- Oregon license accepted; emergency license accepted
- Pending license accepted
- RTO restrictions: Any time off over 2 weeks requires approval
Required Documents & Compliance
- Clear copy of driver's license or passport/state ID
- Criminal background check within 90 days (7-year search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and ongoing
- Education verification (not required for licensed RNs)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Drug testing (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tdap or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccines
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccination series
- Varicella titer or vaccination
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (year-round)
- Fit mask testing onsite within first week of start (if starting after 1/27/25)
- Badge photo with white background required at least 8 days prior to start
Additional Notes
- Telemetry skills required for all RNs regardless of unit
- Must be flexible to float across multiple adult inpatient units including Emergency Department, Psychiatric Medical Center, ICU, inpatient rehab, vascular access, and sister hospital units
- References: Two references within last 2 years showing 1 year in a comparable specialty; at least one supervisory reference within last 12 months
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs who have prior travel contract experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, acute care environment with floating responsibilities.
