Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Bristol, Tennessee
Specialty: Registered Nurse
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule & Work Details
- 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (36/48 if confirmed by 01/31/26)
- Every other weekend off
- No call required
- Floating to other units as needed
- Hospital may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases
- Additional shifts beyond commitment may be offered as overtime and flexed as needed
- Expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience (higher value confirmed)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Previous Charge Nurse experience preferred but not required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
- ACLS (check unit description for requirement; AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
- PALS (check unit description; AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
- NRP required for ER (can be pending at start, highly preferred prior)
- TNCC highly preferred for ER but not required
- State License primary source verification required
- NURSYS verification required
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- National Certification/Verification as applicable (e.g., Certified Surgical Techs)
Background Checks & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Education verification required
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed/certified in TN or working in TN
- Photo for badge required within 48 hours of contract signing
- Various facility-specific forms and policies must be reviewed and completed (e.g., dress code, smoking policy, flu vaccination policies)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
- Respiratory fit mask testing completed onsite (previous fit tests from non-facility not accepted)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- MMR titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) or documentation of vaccination/boosters
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella titer or documentation of vaccination/boosters
- Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)
Additional Information
- General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation included
- References: 2 accepted, 3 preferred

- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted
