Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Saturday to Monday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Level 1 required

- Tech Certifications:
- Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) - NCCT accepted
- MRI Tech - ARRT required (AMRIT not accepted)
- Sonography Unit - ARRT(S), RDMS, RDCS, CCI, or RVT accepted
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA) required
Background & Screening Requirements
- Criminal background check within 60 days of start, including:
- All states lived/worked in past 7 years
- State of permanent residence
- VA Statewide Repository Search
- SS Trace
- All counties lived/worked in past 7 years
- Nationwide check
- FACIS Level 3
- Sex Offender Registry
- Education Verification (diploma accepted in lieu)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results required for certain units and candidates; results can pend if proof of submission is on file
- Fingerprinting required for Pediatrics, NICU, Children’s Hospital of Richmond, and Psych units
- CPS (Central Registry) search and documentation required for Pediatrics, NICU, Psych, and certain facilities; must be submitted within 48 hours of contract confirmation
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant screens not accepted)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Tdap vaccine or declination required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Q-gold/T-spot within 30 days or two PPDs with specific timing)
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Titers required for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella; booster required if low titer
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination required
- Flu vaccine or exemption required for the 2025-26 season (declinations not accepted; agency exemption form allowed)
Competency & Skills
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for RNs and LVNs/LPNs (not required for RN Case Managers)
- Color Blind Testing required
- Competency Exam required (Sonography or Vascular Tech competency accepted for Sonography roles)
- Abuse Reporting Competency required (covering physical/sexual abuse, domestic violence, neglect/exploitation of elderly or incapacitated adults)
- Skills Checklist required and must be updated annually (Sonography or Vascular Tech skills accepted for Sonography roles)
Orientation & Facility Specifics
- Exams/tests at orientation include Pharmacology Exam, Point of Care Testing, Airborne Precaution Mask Fitting (not pass/fail)
- BKAT (Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool) for RNs and LPNs in Tele/Step-Down, Progressive Care, ICU (peds and adults)
- Assigned learning modules during orientation (~6 hours to complete)
- Candidates must bring mask (cloth acceptable), non-wireless headphones, and laptop/cell phone (notify if not available)

- Performance evaluations completed at end of assignment, not required prior to start
