Registered Nurse - Cardiac Surgery (Pre-Surgical Visit Nurse)

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract (Temp to Hire)

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (No weekends or nights)
• Temp to Hire: Yes, with expectation to join permanently after contract if offered

Licensure & Experience Requirements

• License: Washington RN license in-hand required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year required (2 years inpatient or cardiac clinic nursing preferred)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted

Certifications & Skills

• Required Certification: BLS
• Required Skills:

  • Interpretation of laboratory results
  • Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG
  • Patient teaching
  • MRSA swabs
  • Discharge planning
• Charting System: EPIC (experience required)

Job Responsibilities

• Provide pre-surgical visits for cardiac surgery patients
• Extensive patient education and communication with surgeons and schedulers
• Perform EKGs and MRSA swabs
• Discharge planning
• Care for patients with diagnoses including CAD, AVD, MVD, TVD, HCM, IST, AFIB, HFeEF
• No floating outside scope of practice

• Reliable transportation required
• Candidates outside local area must agree to commute or relocate within range for contract and potential permanent hire
• No weekend or on-call requirements
