Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Rochester, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Immediate backfill needed
• Must have EPIC experience within the past year on the same unit type the candidate is applying for
• Proficiency with EPIC is required to obtain EPIC access
• If EPIC experience is not from the local hospital system, orientation at a nearby facility (1.5 hours away) is required
• No blocked schedules
• Work schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Must be available on weekends

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – required for OR (Operating Room)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – required for OB/GYN and ER
• NIH Stroke Certification – required for all RNs

Licenses and Verifications

• Valid State Nursing License (Indiana) with primary source verification
• Education verification and transcript/diploma required
• Background checks including criminal, nationwide sex offender, education verification, and state-specific license database search
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year (approved mask models)
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity or vaccination as per birth year guidelines
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, declination, or vaccine series
  • Varicella: Titer, vaccination, or history of chickenpox
  • Flu vaccine mandatory during flu season (October-May 31); declinations require exemption approval

Competencies and Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam appropriate to clinical specialty
• Competency exam as applicable by profession and specialty, must meet passing score

Additional Requirements

• Emergency contact form and orientation education must be completed prior to start
• HIPAA Safety Manual acknowledgment required annually
• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
• Employment application/resume required
• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
• Employment history verification required

Work Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each

This position is ideal for RNs with recent EPIC experience on the same unit type, who meet all licensure, certification, and health requirements, and are available for a 13-week travel contract in Indiana.
