Job Details

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as applicable
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - as applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
  • CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - as applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - as applicable
  • State License Verification (Primary source online verification required)
  • NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)

Required Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
  • Competency Exam (minimum passing score 80% or higher if Angoff score is higher)
  • Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors; annual completion required)

Required Documents & Checks

  • I9 form (for direct candidates)
  • Driver’s License/State ID
  • E-Verify (for direct candidates)
  • 7-year Background Check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire
  • HHS/OIG check upon hire
  • Education Verification (highest level of education)
  • Transcript/Diploma (if education verification pending)
  • Fingerprinting (time sensitive; for New Mexico placements only)
  • Physical Exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start
  • Complete Employment Application/Resume
  • Unit Specific Skills Checklist (annual)
  • 7 Year Work History Verification

Required Immunizations & Health Documentation

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test (2-Step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
  • TB Questionnaire (for positive TB results; annual renewal)
  • Measles (Rubeola) - Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Mumps - Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Rubella - Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Hepatitis B - Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella - Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history of chickenpox; boosters required if negative/equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (Dose 1 and Fully Vaccinated Dose 2 if applicable) or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

Additional Notes

  • References: Not required to clear candidates but 2 professional references recommended for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required
  • Clear headshot photo required for badge
  • Some certifications and requirements are "as applicable" depending on the role or unit

This position offers an opportunity for nurses with at least 1 year of orthopedic experience to work nights in a travel capacity with weekend and float responsibilities. Prior travel experience is not required.
