Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit Details

• Patient Diagnoses: TIA/Stroke, Anemia, UTI, Chest Pain, and other general medical/surgical populations
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Call: None
• Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)

Holidays

• If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
• If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
• If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day

Orientation & Compliance

• Maximum Return to Orientation (RTO) time: 7 days
• Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in specified specialties (ER, PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU, Critical Care, CVICU, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, PCU, IMCU, Labor & Delivery, RRT, CVOR, CRT)
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for RNs
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required as per specialty
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire for applicable staff
• State License Verification: Must be licensed in Georgia
• NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs by Aya
• Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
• Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac tele/step-down, ICU, PCU; three attempts allowed

Background & Health Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
• Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
• Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months of start; can start with TB test pending if questionnaire on file
• TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
• Immunizations:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
  • Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
• Flu Vaccination: Required or declination; strongly encouraged during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

• References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
• Skills Checklist: Updated within last 12 months
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof in process
• Facility Policies: Candidates must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
