Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Unit Details
- Patient Diagnoses: TIA/Stroke, Anemia, UTI, Chest Pain, and other general medical/surgical populations
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Call: None
- Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
- First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
Holidays
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, traveler expected to work two of them
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day
Orientation & Compliance
- Maximum Return to Orientation (RTO) time: 7 days
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in specified specialties (ER, PACU, Pre-op, Endo, CSU, Critical Care, CVICU, Cardiac Tele/Step-down, PCU, IMCU, Labor & Delivery, RRT, CVOR, CRT)
- BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for RNs
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for RNs in PACU/Pre-op/Endo/CSU (if pediatric patients accepted), ER
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required as per specialty
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire for applicable staff
- State License Verification: Must be licensed in Georgia
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required for RNs by Aya
- Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency Exam: Required for Nursing and Allied by Aya
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac tele/step-down, ICU, PCU; three attempts allowed
Background & Health Requirements
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Education Verification: Required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Physical Exam: Required by Aya within 1 year of start
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months of start; can start with TB test pending if questionnaire on file
- TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters allowed post-start if eligible
- Hepatitis B: Series, surface antibody titer, or signed declination
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
- Flu Vaccination: Required or declination; strongly encouraged during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- References: 2 clinical references required by Aya
- Skills Checklist: Updated within last 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof in process
- Facility Policies: Candidates must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
