Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Unit: Medical Surgical / Remote Telemetry
• Diagnoses: Diabetes, med/surg, post-op, wound vacs, bariatrics
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
• Beds: 33 beds, average daily census of 28
• Electronic Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes
• Call Requirements: None
• Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays during assignment (expectation varies based on number of holidays during contract)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
• 1st time travelers accepted
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC accepted
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty area
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke, etc.) may be required based on unit or specialty; verify per assignment specifics

Compliance & Orientation

• Full compliance required to start on time
• Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
• Background check, education verification, and licensure must be completed prior to start
• Drug screening (10-panel) required within 30 days of start, results must be available before starting
• Physical exam and immunizations (including TB test, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or declination) required
• Color blindness test and competency exams (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG) required
• Skills checklist and work history verification required

Additional Requirements

• Must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy
• Floating between units may be required
• Must be able to work assigned holidays as specified
• Locals accepted at same rate

Summary

This is a 14-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in medical-surgical or telemetry settings, caring for adult to geriatric patients. The role requires BLS certification and familiarity with Epic electronic health records. The position includes weekend rotations every other weekend, floating, and holiday work expectations. Full compliance with background checks, drug screening, immunizations, and competency exams is mandatory prior to start. Prior travel experience is not required.
