Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Salina, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 4x10 hour shifts, 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• On-call/Float: Minimal call, currently every 5th weekend
• License Required: Kansas state license or compact license at time of submission
• Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• First Time Travelers: Accepted
• EMR System: Any
• Radius Restriction: 100 mile radius rule (mileage reviewed upon submittal)
• Equipment Used: ION robot, Fujinon scopes, Medivator1
• Procedures Involved:

  • Post-Procedure (Recover conscious sedation)
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Circulate
  • Colonoscopy
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA accepted

Additional certifications such as PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM may be required depending on unit but are not mandatory for this position.

License & Verification

• State license verification required (Primary Source Verification)
• NURSYS verification required for all RNs

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education verification or transcript/diploma required
• FACIS Level III screening required within 30 days of start
• Drug testing: 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30 days of start (SAMHSA certified, MRO reviewed)
• Physical exam within 30 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or ARNP confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months of start (can be completed onsite during orientation)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start (or documentation if previously positive)
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination form)
  • Varicella
• Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine current within 10 years (required for Birth Center/NICU staff)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific Healthstream modules (~8 hours) prior to start
• Photo for badge required
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Prior employees of this facility will not be considered

• Prior travel experience is not required for this position
• This is a travel/contract role with a 13-week assignment
• Minimal on-call responsibilities

This position is suitable for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of experience who hold the required licenses and certifications, and who are comfortable working in procedural areas involving scopes and conscious sedation recovery.
