Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Experience Required: Preferred 3 years, minimum 2 years with strong experience (use 3 years as requirement)

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Patient Population: Trauma, Cardiovascular, Stroke, Neuro
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Float: Yes, within scope to Intermediate Care (IMC)
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Locals Accepted: Yes, same base rate
• Pending License Accepted: Yes
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• On-call: Not required
• Special Requirements: EPIC experience required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all units except Pediatrics, OB, and Labor & Delivery)

Licensure

• Maryland nursing license OR compact state license
• Compact license holders must provide proof of state residency (driver’s license from the same state as the compact license)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks required annually
• HHS/OIG checks required annually
• Fingerprinting (Maryland MD CJIS/DSS/FBI) required for school placements only

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types preferred)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific requirements for PPD tests)
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; negative titers require 2 boosters 28 days apart
• Hepatitis B: Proof of positive titer, vaccination, or declination required
• Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; negative titers require 2 boosters 28 days apart
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Flu vaccine required annually; declinations or exemptions not accepted

Additional Requirements

• Proof of 2 clinical references
• Skills checklist updated annually (applicable units)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exams as applicable (e.g., Moderate Sedation for IR RNs)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Candidates must be able to work every other weekend and float to IMC as needed.
• EPIC experience is mandatory.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role.
