Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Monroe, Georgia
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum - LDRP)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Unit Details

• Care for laboring patients from 35 weeks gestation
• Provide postpartum and newborn care
• Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Weekend schedule: Every third weekend
• Call: Once a week as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)

Work Expectations

• Must work major holidays if they fall during assignment:

  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving/Black Friday
  • Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
  • New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Full compliance with onboarding and credentialing required to start on time
• Orientation hours vary based on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)

Certifications & Licenses Required

• State Nursing License: Valid Georgia RN license required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Labor & Delivery specialty
• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Online course required within a few months of hire (no re-certification required)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (results must be available before start)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; negative chest x-ray if prior positive TB test
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required

Additional Requirements

• Background check completed within 30 days of start
• Education verification of nursing degree required (can be pending with proof of processing)
• Skills checklist updated within 12 months
• Work history verification of most recent employer required (can be pending with proof of processing)
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
• Color blindness test required (with alternative assessment if needed)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for applicable units (not specifically stated for LDRP but may be relevant)
