Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Durham, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 4 x 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with flexibility to work 5 x 8-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
Experience Requirements

Certifications & Licenses
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA only, required for all clinical/patient-facing candidates

- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure): AHA/AAP only, as applicable
- Chemotherapy Certification: As applicable

- CT Tech: ARRT Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (CT)
- MRI Tech: ARRT Radiography (R) and Magnetic Resonance (MR)
- Nuclear Medicine Tech: ARRT Nuclear Medicine (N) or CNMT
- Sonographer: ARDMS or CCI with RCCS or RCS credentials
- OR Tech / Surgical Tech: NCCT or NBSTSA certification or accredited program completion
- RRT: NBRC certification
- X-Ray Tech: ARRT Radiography (R)
- CEUs: Required for Mammography Techs (specific training and documentation)
- State License: Required where applicable (e.g., NC RRT State License for Respiratory Therapists)
- NURSYS Verification: Required for RNs, LPN/LVNs, and APs
- NIH Stroke Certification: As applicable
- Exercise Physiologist Certification: Must be certified/experienced in stress testing and ECG interpretation
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication): Required for all candidates except RRTs; passing grade 80%
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Training provided onsite during orientation; valid for 2 years
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, including:
- SSN Trace, Counties, Alias, Nationwide, Sex Offender, International (if applicable)
- Education verification for Radiology/Cardiology specialties
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 90 days
- OFAC Sanctions List Search within 30 days
- Education verification required for all Radiology/Cardiology candidates, including proof of graduation from accredited programs
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Physical exam: Required within 12 months of start
- Fit mask (N95 or equivalent): Required within 12 months of start for Radiology/Cardiology specialties
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low/equivocal)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination (required for new candidates starting October-March)
- Polio vaccine or attestation
Documentation & Orientation
- Employment application and 7 years of work history required
- Two professional references from employment within 12 months, including at least one supervisor
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Facility-specific documents and online modules must be completed prior to orientation
- Competency exams and unit-specific competency checklists required
- Duke Guest Account setup required prior to clearance for access to orientation and work systems
- Candidate Badge photo submission required for certain units (e.g., Sterile Processing Tech)
Additional Notes
- Candidates cannot start with pending background checks
- All certifications and licenses must be verified with new documentation (previous verifications not accepted)
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous Duke assignments may have some document requirements waived or accepted on file
- Orientation includes training modules, competency exams, and may include in-house CPI training
- Pass/fail testing is conducted on the first day of orientation; remediation and retesting policies apply
