Job Opportunity: Surgical Technologist (CST/ORT) - Travel Position
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Specialty: CST/ORT (Surgical Technologist - Operating Room)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Role: Surgical Technologist in Operating Room (OR)
- Shift: Days, 4 shifts of 10 hours each (4x10)
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: As needed
- Call Requirements: Required, as needed
- Work Environment: Fast-paced OR setting with surgical patients
- EMR System: EPIC experience required
Required Qualifications
- Specialty Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Surgical Technology (OR)
- Certifications: BLS required
- Neuro Training: Must be neuro-trained and able to scrub neuro cases; will take neuro call
- Skills:
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment
- Navigate multiple computer systems
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Provide quality care in OR setting
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
- Previous healthcare experience required
- Education: High school diploma and some college
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate all supplies and instrumentation needed for surgical procedures
- Assist RN with patient care planning, interventions, and outcomes
- Responsible for disposition and decontamination of instruments/supplies in the surgical center
- Work under supervision of physician/RN and report to Director/Manager
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (exemptions must be approved)
- Dress Code: Black scrubs required
- Personality Fit: Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
