Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity
Location: Huntington, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Varied start times: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, 8:45 AM - 9:15 PM, 10:45 AM - 11:15 PM
- Weekend shifts usually every other Saturday
- No call required
- Scrub preferred, circulate required
- Must be able to function in multiple service areas including Trauma, Cardiovascular Thoracic (CVT), Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Cataracts, ENT, etc.
- WV or Compact RN license required at time of submission (no temporary or pending licenses accepted)
- BLS certification required
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse

Required Documents & Verifications
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Background check: 7-year criminal history within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Transcript/Diploma or Education Verification (EDV acceptable)
- State License primary source verification and NURSYS verification (for RNs)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency within 6 months of start
- Facility-specific new hire forms, confidentiality agreement, standards of behavior, IT access, OSHA post-test, voluntary self-identification, COVID form, hospital policies review, and flu exemption forms as applicable
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Initial physical exam, updated annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (medical or religious exemptions only)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (QGold or T-Spot within 6 months, updated annually)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (2nd booster can pend at start)
- Hepatitis B: Surface antibody and antigen titer within 6 months, vaccination series or declination form required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (2nd booster can pend at start)
- Drug testing: LabCorp panel within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Hepatitis A: Negative titer within 6 months
- Hepatitis C: Antibody titer within 6 months
- Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (medical or religious exemptions require approval and forms)
- COVID seasonal vaccine required; initial series preferred; declination form required if opting out

- Proof of 2 clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
- Completed employment application/resume
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Performance evaluations if previously worked with the system over 1 year
- Internal evaluations if previously worked with the system over 2 years
