Job Description

• Position: Home Health Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start: ASAP
• Locals within 75 miles are accepted

Requirements

• Valid New Jersey or compact nursing license
• Minimum 1 year of recent home health nursing experience (highest required experience)
• Prior travel experience: Not required (no explicit mention)

Certifications & Training

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, required for all RNs
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, required for applicable units
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA only, required for select units
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, NICU
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required for Labor and Delivery (AWHONN Advanced or NCC C-EFM within 2 years)
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Required
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Required onsite for all RN specialties
• State License Verification – Must be current, no temporary or emergency licenses unless approved
• NURSYS Verification – Required for RNs, must be run within 30 days prior to start

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam – 80% passing score, updated annually
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam – 80% passing score, updated annually (not required for Home Health RNs)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) – 80% passing score, updated annually; covers National Patient Safety, HIPAA, OSHA, Infection Control, Ethics, and more
• Color Blind Testing (Ishihara test) – Must be completed within 1 year of assignment start

Health & Immunization Requirements (Must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)

• Physical Exam or Statement of Health (signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP)
• Fit Mask Test (N95 or equivalent)
• Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (annual Quantiferon Gold or T-spot within 6 months)
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (titer or declination)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred, not required)
• Flu Vaccination (mandatory, no declinations accepted)
• COVID-19 Vaccination (completed series and booster required)
• Drug Testing: Negative 9 Panel within 30 days of start (no rapid tests)

Background & Verification

• 7-year background check including:

  • Counties Lived/Worked
  • Statewide and National Criminal Checks
  • Sex Offender Search
  • OIG Sanction Search
  • SAM.gov Exclusion List
• Education Verification (diploma or third-party verification required)
• Employment Verification for last 7 years (must be completed 2 Fridays prior to start)
• Two professional references required:

  • One supervisory reference within 12 months
  • One professional reference within 3 years

Additional Information

• Unit-specific skills checklist required
• Facility-specific self-learning modules and post-tests must be completed prior to start
• Pass/fail testing onsite with one attempt allowed; failure results in contract cancellation
