Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVICCU RN) - Florence, South Carolina
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (CVICCU RN)

- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7 PM - 7 AM), with holiday rotation
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Yes, may need to float within scope to like units/sister facilities (agency floats first)
- Local Radius: 60 miles
- Locals Accepted: Yes, on a case-by-case basis
Experience & Licensure Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (cardiac experience required)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
- Licenses: South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
Certifications Required
- ACLS (AHA or ARC only)
- BLS (AHA or ARC only)
- NIH Stroke Certification (as required)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, TNCC, EFM) — verify with specific unit job description

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN trace, statewide, national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3, international searches
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education Verification: Not required for this facility; diploma/transcripts preferred as placeholder if needed
- Licensure Verification: Primary source verification required; SC RN license processing times vary (3-5 weeks for permanent, 24-48 hours for walk-through temp license)
- NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical Exam: Initial and annual physical exam attesting ability to meet job demands
- Immunizations & Health Requirements:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest x-ray if positive
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations
- COVID vaccines not required but highly preferred; vaccination records must be uploaded or declination form completed
- Respirator Clearance: Annual medical clearance required for all patient-facing travelers
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
- Performance Evaluation: Must be dated within 12 months of start
- Employment History: Last 3 clinical employers verified (not required for this facility)
Orientation & Facility Specifics
- Completion of orientation modules (approx. 4 hours) required prior to start
- Clear, passport-style photo required for badge
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be signed prior to start (e.g., Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Job Description)
- Radiation badge required for certain specialties (OR, Cath Lab, EP Lab, Radiology); not required for others (MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound)
This position is ideal for experienced cardiac RNs with prior travel contract experience who hold or can obtain a South Carolina or Compact RN license and meet the certification and health requirements. Night shift availability and flexibility to float within similar units are necessary.
