Travel RN Opportunity - Alexandria, Louisiana

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Employment Type: Travel, Full Time
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Weekend Requirement: Scheduling based on need; weekends may be required
• On Call Requirement: No call
• Floating: Possible floating to other locations
• Nurse/Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing

Unit and Patient Population

• MedSurg unit focusing on post-surgical patients, including orthopedics and general surgery
• Neuro populations also cared for on the unit
• EPIC electronic health record experience is a bonus

Job Summary

• Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a similar clinical setting
• Manage clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegations
• Utilize nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty required
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN license in state of employment or compact license
  • BLS certification required
