Job Description
- Work schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours (1900-0730)
- Experience required in MS/Tele and Cardiac Telemetry units
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
- Must float to MS and MS/Tele units as needed
- Every 3rd weekend required
- One major holiday per contract required
- Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
Required Exams and Competencies
- Relias Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (within 1 year of start, updated annually)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher, within 3 years)
- Color Blind Testing (online or in-person acceptable)
- Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher, within 3 years)
Licensure and Documentation
- Valid State Nursing License required prior to start
- I9 and E-Verify attestation required
- Criminal Background Check within 90 days of start (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Education verification of highest degree required by position
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
Health and Safety Requirements
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test (IGRA or PPD) within 1 year, updated annually; if prior positive, chest x-ray or annual questionnaire required
- Immunization documentation required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/23 - 03/31)
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Annual acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual
- Photo for badge meeting facility specifications
Summary
This travel Registered Nurse position in Baltimore, MD requires a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with MS/Tele and Cardiac Telemetry skills. Candidates must pass a specialized EKG exam and hold current ACLS and BLS certifications. The contract is approximately 13 weeks long with a night shift schedule and includes weekend and holiday work. First-time travelers are welcome. Comprehensive background checks, health screenings, and immunizations are mandatory.
