Description

Travel Radiation Therapist Opportunity

Location: Springfield, Missouri
Specialty: Radiation Therapist (Radiology)
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Shift: Days, 5x8 (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, depending on patient load)
  • Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
  • Weekend Hours: None
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Number of Openings: 1

Required Certifications

  • BLS (American Heart Association only)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • RRA (Registered Radiologist Assistant)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Radiation Therapy experience in a hospital setting
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Skills and Qualifications

  • Good communication skills
  • Experience with LINAC treatment: setting up and imaging patients
  • Elekta workflow experience preferred but can be taught on the job

Unit and Equipment Information

  • Patient Volume: Approximately 65-70 patients treated daily
  • Equipment: Elekta Versas, Varian HDR, Cyberknife, with new Radixact installation planned by August 2024
  • EMR Systems: Mosaiq and EPIC
  • Patient Types: Inpatient and Outpatient

Work Environment

  • Part of the Radiation Therapy Treatment Team responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatments using advanced equipment
  • Collaborative team environment requiring good interpersonal skills

Additional Requirements

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1 (declinations not accepted)

Dress Code

  • Scrubs: Black only
  • Colored scrubs are not acceptable
