Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Patient Population

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
Clinical Skills & Work Setting
- Patient Diagnoses include:
Appendicitis, Cholecystitis, Small Bowel Obstruction, Pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, Sepsis, Hypertension, Hypo/Hyperglycemia, Prostatectomy, Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Ostomy creation/reversal, Exploratory Laparotomy, Bowel resections - Equipment experience:
Nasogastric tubes (NGT), chest tubes, feeding tubes, wound vacs - Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Unit size: 34 beds, average daily census 27
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Weekend shifts: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes, within facility
- Call: None
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Orientation & Compliance
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays result in 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 weeks = 14 hours)
- Clinical screening required to determine fit before final approval
Required Documentation & Health Requirements
- Valid State License (Georgia)
- Background check within 30 days of start
- Education verification (degree related to nursing)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable if close to start date)
- References: 2 clinical references required
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Color blind testing required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (Tele, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac step-down, ICU, PCU)
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
This position offers a diverse adult to geriatric patient population with a variety of acute diagnoses and requires strong clinical skills, certifications, and compliance with facility policies. The role includes floating within the facility and working every other weekend with no call requirements.
