Required Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI acceptable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) – Required as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) – Required as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required as applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – Required as applicable
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Required as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification – Required as applicable
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – Must meet or exceed passing score
• Competency Exam – Must meet or exceed passing score
• State License Verification – Required within 30 days of start
• Tech Cert Verification – Required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) – Required within 30 days of start
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Required, update annually

Required Health Documents & Immunizations

• Physical Exam – Within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap – Vaccine required within 10 years of start
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray – Negative 2-step PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot within 1 year of start; chest x-ray if positive PPD
• TB Questionnaire – Required for all candidates
• Rubeola (Measles) – 2 vaccines or positive titer required; exemptions apply for candidates born before 1957
• Mumps – 2 vaccines or positive titer required; exemptions apply for candidates born before 1957
• Rubella – 2 vaccines or positive titer required; exemptions apply for candidates born before 1957
• Hepatitis B – Positive titer, series (3), or declination required
• Varicella – 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox required
• Drug Testing – Negative 9 panel drug screen within 1 year of start; plan must be in place to complete within 72 hours of contract signing
• Flu Seasonal Vaccination/Documentation (2025-26) – Required between 10/1 and 5/31; medical/religious exemptions subject to review
• COVID Vaccination – Current vaccination documentation required

Background Checks & Compliance

• Background Check – Required within 1 year of start; includes SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM Check – Required within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG Check – Required within 30 days of start
