Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Telemetry) - Euclid, Ohio

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience (must be permanent experience prior to travel)
• Must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or compact state license at time of submission
• AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required
• Recent (within last 6 months) Epic charting experience required
• Must provide one recent reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty (Charge RN references accepted)
• Must work at least every other holiday
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate test during orientation
• Use of Qualivis – Lotus system for submitting hours worked

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross; must be current at start
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross; must be current at start
• Other certifications may be required depending on specialty and unit

Licensure & Background Checks

• Permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license required
• Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search, education verification, and fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required
• Fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signed contract and updated annually
• Candidates can start with fingerprint results pending but must complete prior to start or extension

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (required for new candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask test (N95) within 12 months and updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers required; boosters if titers negative or equivocal
• Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination documentation
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer required; booster if negative or equivocal
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31)

Onboarding & Orientation

• Completion of online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Pass/fail ECG and medication competency testing during orientation
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• SafeMedicate preparation materials provided for exam preparation

Experience & References

• At least 18 months of permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel assignment
• Must provide 2 references from employment within one year of start, from a manager, ANM, supervisor, charge nurse, or director (co-worker references not accepted)
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years in acute care and similar specialty area

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Candidates must be prepared to complete all required documentation and certifications prior to start
• Candidates must be able to work night shifts and meet holiday work requirements

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or a compact state, with recent Epic experience and strong clinical references.
