Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Brownwood, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry)
- Preferred start: 2/2 or 2/16
- Candidates at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Required Experience

Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; annual updates required
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Education Verification (highest level) or transcript/diploma required
- Texas-specific checks: DADS Employability Status and Employee Misconduct Registry (within 30 days of start)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival (positive result is automatic cancellation)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
- Fit test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S mask) required annually
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (PPD or Qgold/Tspot) within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if titers negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination required; booster or declination post titer acceptable
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; booster if titer negative/equivocal
- Flu seasonal vaccination or exemption required for 2025-26 season
Competencies & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (online Ishihara test acceptable)
- Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Pass/Fail Testing for Telemetry nurses with up to 2 attempts
