Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Belleville, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Setting: Skilled Nursing and Rehab Units in a Long-Term Care (LTC) Facility
• Patient Population: Up to 20 residents per shift, average daily census 72
• Shift: Every other weekend rotation (weekend required upon request)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Direct Patient Care: Yes
• Float Requirement: Not applicable

Experience & Certifications

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years (highest requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
• Certifications Required Before Start:

  • IV Certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Additional Recommended Experience:

  • Rehab with strong Med/Surg and acute care experience helpful but not required
  • Dementia training/experience highly recommended

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

• Must have license in hand to submit application; proof of license required
• Work closely with CNA/HCA staff
• Use of special lifting equipment
• Charting system: PowerChart
• Attire: Any shade of blue scrubs
• Excellent customer service skills required
• Must provide ample notice (more than 24 hours) for any call-outs
• RTO (Request Time Off) restrictions apply; cannot take every holiday off

Background Checks & Compliance

• Background checks required within 1 year of start and updated annually, including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • County searches for last 7 years
  • Nationwide Sex Offender check
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM
  • HHS/OIG
• Professional license primary source verification required
• Unit-specific competency exams required
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination accepted)
  • Varicella
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
• 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant tests acceptable; cannot start with pending drug screen)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption; Illinois candidates with exemptions must submit twice-weekly COVID testing results

• Two professional references within 2 years of start

• Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start

Notes
