Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Schedule & Work Details

• 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (36/48 schedule if confirmed for January 2026 start)
• Floating required
• Rotating weekends and holidays
• Hospital may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases
• Additional shifts above commitment are overtime and may be flexed as needed
• Expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

Certifications & Licenses

• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) required for any patient contact
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required for ER; can be pending at start but highly preferred before starting
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) highly preferred for ER candidates
• State RN license with primary source verification required
• NURSYS verification required

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience)

Orientation & Training

• General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required

Background Checks & Compliance

• Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check required if licensed or working in Tennessee

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing completed onsite (previous fit tests from non-facility sources not accepted)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
• Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29, 2025 – Mar 31, 2026)

Competencies & Exams

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• General competency exam required

Additional Notes

• Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
• Photo for badge must be submitted within 48 hours of contract signing (specific photo standards apply)
• Respirator medical evaluation questionnaire and clearance forms must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• References: 2 accepted, 3 preferred
• Skills checklist required
