Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Home Health

Location: Ringgold, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
• Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
• Average patients per day: 5-8.
• Types of cases: Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
• Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from home clinic for patient visits.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
• Weekend rotation: Yes, approximately every 5-6 weekends.
• On-call: Yes, approximately once every 5-6 weeks.
• Dress code: Scrubs.
• Charting: Proficiency required in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and Oasis (for RNs). Must have used HCHB within the last 6 months or complete retraining.

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Home Health
• Experience: Minimum 1 full year of recent Adult Home Health experience or 1 full year Hospice experience (depending on specialty).
• First-timers: Not accepted; must have recent specialty experience.
• Certifications: Current CPR and BLS required.
• Licensure: Must have license in hand; pending licenses not accepted.
• Transportation: Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and agency-required liability insurance required.
• Local candidates: Accepted at the same rate.

Travel & Work Details

• Territory coverage includes Flinstone/Trenton area.
• Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate; compensation from patient home to patient home (commute to/from first and last patient not billable).
• Average miles traveled per week vary.
• Productivity expectations: Approximately 25-30 weekly units (points system based on visits and activities).

Systems & Training

• Must be proficient in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and Oasis documentation systems.
• OASIS E course required if not experienced with HCHB within the last 6 months.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Must complete and maintain all required background checks, including:

  • 7-year standard background check (including SS trace, county, nationwide, sex offender, MVR).
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG screenings.
  • State-specific background checks as applicable.
  • Fingerprinting as required by state regulations.
• Education verification required.
• Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen required.
• Health documents required:

  • Physical exam within 12 months.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
  • Proof of immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
  • Flu vaccination or documented declination for current season.
  • COVID vaccination series or declination.
• References: Two references required.
• Work history verification: At least two most recent employers or last 7 years.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must review and sign various compliance, confidentiality, privacy, and policy documents prior to start and annually if working more than one year consecutively.
• Some positions may follow a Baylor Shift schedule (4x10s, Friday-Monday), but most are standard 5x8 Monday-Friday.
