Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit: Renal Med Surg
- Typical Ratio / Census: 1:5-6; 49 rooms with an average daily census of 48
- Electronic Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Schedule: Every other weekend required
- Floating: Yes
- Call Requirements: None
- Holiday Work:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays, expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays, expected to work 2 of them
- Major Holidays Include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Experience & Certifications
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year (1st timers accepted)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Preferred/Additional Certifications (may be required depending on specialty area):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedules
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 14 hours for 14-week assignment)
Required Documents & Verifications
- Identification: Valid Driver’s License or State ID (photo ID required)
- Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
- Education Verification: Verification of related degree required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- State License: Must be valid and verified within 30 days prior to start (Georgia RN license required)
- NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (can start with TB test pending if TB questionnaire on file)
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- Immunizations: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer with booster plan if needed)
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Flu vaccination or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (required by Aya)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (required for certain specialties)
- References: Two clinical references required (Aya requirement)
- Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
- Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process

- Must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
