Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Waynesboro, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Overview

  • Unit: Pre-Screen Unit
  • Candidate clinical fit will be reviewed before manager interview and final decision.
  • May care for COVID-19 patients.
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Experience & Requirements

  • Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years Registered Nurse experience
  • Prior travel experience: Not required
  • Certifications Required:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • EPIC experience required

Work Schedule & Duties

  • Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW)
  • Call: Not applicable
  • Holidays: As needed
  • Floating: May float to Med Surg as needed

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance required within 5 years; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days or will be removed from assignment
  • Pennsylvania PATCH Search Results required within 1 year; must be finalized prior to start (cannot start with results pending)

Certifications & Verifications

  • State RN license primary source verification required
  • NURSYS verification required
  • Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required (except OR and Home Health)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) plus declination form if applicable
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative or equivocal
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine required during flu season; medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation
  • COVID-19 vaccine or medical/religious exemption or declination accepted
  • Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
  • Respiratory Safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific Documents

  • Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
  • Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form within 90 days of start
  • Commitment to Health & Wellness, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Non-Employee Affidavit, I9 Attestation, Documentation Attestation, and LMS Modules completion required
  • Hepatitis B declination form must be signed if applicable

Additional Notes

  • Two professional references required within 3 years of start
  • Most recent resume or employment application required
  • Annual skills checklist required
  • Performance evaluations completed onsite by unit managers during assignment

This position requires a well-prepared candidate with solid RN experience, EPIC proficiency, and all required certifications and clearances completed or in process prior to or shortly after start date.
