Nursing Contract Opportunity - Rockford, Illinois

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois and Wisconsin
  • Approved CPR certification required within 90 days
  • Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification required

Job Description

  • Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care in a clinical setting
  • Support nursing mission, practice values, and strategic plan
  • May include variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call hours
  • Perform duties including floating to various units based on clinical competency and needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary diabetes management team to provide diabetes education to patients and families
  • Utilize nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards and state laws
  • Document care according to standards
  • Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family instruction
  • Participate in department/unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments
  • Use critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately
  • Participate in professional nursing development processes
  • Act as a resource for staff on patient education programs and materials
  • Advocate for patients addressing clinical, psychosocial, and financial issues
