Job Details

• Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Minimum 18 months recent and permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or a compact state license
• AHA BLS & ACLS certifications required
• Must work at least every other holiday
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate pass required during orientation

Required Experience

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Surg Telemetry experience (use higher value if discrepancies)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or American Red Cross
• Pass/Fail ECG & Medication Testing during orientation
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP) but not specified for this role

Licensure

• Permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start

Background and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check including FCRA compliant 7-year search required prior to start and updated annually
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Fingerprinting must be completed under nursing code 4723.09
• Candidates can start with fingerprint results pending but must complete before extension

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, including Snellen eye exam (for candidates signing 4/11/2025 or later)
• Fit mask (N95) test within 12 months and updated annually
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD or QGold/TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers required
• Hepatitis B vaccination or titer or declination documentation
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer required
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/31 - 03/31)

Orientation and Training

• Completion of online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• SafeMedicate preparation materials provided for orientation testing
• Unit-specific competency exam required within 12 months of start and updated annually
• Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual and pass/fail testing required

References and Employment History

• Two professional references required from employment within one year of start (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Employment application must include 3 years prior work history with at least 2 years clinical practice in acute care and similar area

Additional Notes

• PBDS Assessment waived
• Qualivis – Lotus system used for submitting hours worked
• Candidates must carry government-issued photo ID while on assignment
• Candidates must be prepared to complete fingerprinting at the facility as well

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RNs licensed in Ohio or compact states, comfortable with night shifts and holiday work, and able to meet comprehensive health, background, and training requirements.
