Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Brownwood, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Preferred start dates: 2/2 or 2/16
- 36 or 48 hours per week considered
- Candidates located at least 50 miles from the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse

- NURSYS Verification (within 30 days of start)
- Tech Cert Verification (within 30 days of start)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
Background and Compliance Checks
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start; must be updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check required within 30 days of start
- Education verification (highest level) or transcript/diploma required
- Texas-specific checks:
- DADS Employability Status Check within 30 days of start
- Texas Employee Misconduct Registry within 30 days of start
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
- Fit test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S mask) required and updated annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required (or positive titers/declinations where applicable):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year) and annual TB questionnaire
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Flu seasonal vaccination or exemption (for 2025-26 season)
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start; facility conducts additional drug screen on arrival
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (online Ishihara test acceptable)
