Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Occupational Health RN)
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Occupational Health Registered Nurse
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Years of Experience Required: 1 year (Occupational Health experience required)
- First-timers Accepted: Yes, if they have occupational health experience
- Weekend Requirement: None
- On-call Requirement: No
- Floating: Yes, must be able to float within scope to other metro locations
- Block Schedule: Yes, Monday to Friday
- Locals Accepted: No (must be outside 100-mile radius)
- Pending License Accepted: Yes
- Return to Office Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC required; RQI acceptable; certificate of completion not accepted
- Other certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC) depending on unit/job description
Experience & Skills
- Occupational health experience preferred
- Other relevant experience includes nurse phone triage, urgent care, emergency department, case management, vaccine administration
- Must be able to float to multiple metro locations within the health system

Background & Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check required within 1 year of start date (7-year criminal history, MN statewide search)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 1 year of start
- Fingerprinting via Minnesota DHS Net Study required before start (no starts allowed with fingerprints pending unless a “more time needed” letter is provided)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start required
- Drug testing not required for client clearance but must be within 1 year if done
- Respiratory safety clearance (RespSafety virtual questionnaire) required prior to start
- Various health immunizations and screenings required:
- Adult Tdap (no declinations accepted without exemption approval)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer required; no exemptions for patient-facing roles)
- Hepatitis B (proof of immunity or vaccination series or signed declination)
- Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination; no exemptions accepted)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination documentation required for 2025-26 season (declinations accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of assigned pre-orientation online modules within 72 hours of login (3-9 hours depending on specialty)
- Photo for badge must be passport style, forward facing, shoulders up, plain background, submitted within 48 hours of signing
- Medication and competency exams required annually
- State license primary source verification required (MN RN license or pending accepted)
- Skills checklist required annually
Notes
- Candidate must be able to work primarily at the main hospital but float to other metro locations as needed
- No weekend or on-call shifts required
- Guaranteed hours subject to client cancellation policy (client may cancel up to 3 shifts without penalty)
- Facility is latex-free; candidates with latex allergy should be aware
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of occupational health experience looking for a travel contract in a Magnet, Level III Trauma teaching hospital setting with a Monday-Friday schedule and no weekend or on-call requirements.
