Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Transplant Coordinator (Kidney-Pancreas)
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Role: Transplant Coordinator (organ: kidney-pancreas)
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (08:00 AM – 05:00 PM) with 1-hour lunch
- On Call/Weekend: No on-call or weekend requirements
- Float Requirement: None
Requirements
- Licensure:
- Pending DC nursing license accepted, but license must be in hand prior to start date
- Must have a valid DC nursing license before starting
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC certified
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in clinic or acute inpatient medical-surgical (MS) settings
- RN with basic MedSurg experience will be considered
- Prior Travel Experience:
- Completion of at least 1 prior travel assignment is required
- Vaccinations:
- Flu vaccination required (facility mandate)
Additional Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 90 days, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Federal, state, and county searches as applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start and monthly thereafter
- Health Documents:
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test (IGRA or PPD) within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunization or titer documentation for:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
- Flu seasonal vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (pass with 80% or higher) within 3 years
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements for applicable units (if assigned)
- Color blind testing (online or in-person)
- References & Work History:
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Other:
- Valid driver's license if driving is an essential job function
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start date

This travel Registered Nurse position as a Transplant Coordinator requires at least 2 years of clinical or acute inpatient medical-surgical experience, a valid DC nursing license, BLS certification, and prior travel assignment experience. The role is a standard weekday day shift with no on-call or weekend duties. Compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams is mandatory. Flu vaccination is required by the facility.
