Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location: New Haven, Connecticut

Job Details

  • Schedule:
    • Two 12-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 8:00 PM)
    • Two 8-hour shifts (either 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM)
  • Coverage: Bi-campus coverage between two hospital campuses
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Guaranteed Hours: Yes
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating: Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: No
  • Pending License Accepted: Yes, must be active prior to start date
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: RTO > 7 days requires approval

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required
  • Certifications Required:
    • ARRT (Radiologic Technologist)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Compliance & Credentialing Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check (must be updated annually)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
    • Education verification and foreign equivalency evaluation (if applicable)
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 12 months of start
    • Fit mask test within 12 months, updated annually
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation
    • Required immunizations and titers (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B) or approved exemptions
    • 10-panel drug screen within 12 months
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Competency Exams:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (85% passing score)
    • Color blind testing (required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024)
  • Employment History:
    • 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
    • Verification of employment for last 7 years
  • Additional Training & Modules:
    • Various facility-specific training modules and attestations (e.g., Stroke Education, CLABSI Prevention, Pressure Injury Prevention, Language Services, Suicide Risk Assessment, Pyxis MedStation, Ventricular Assist Device Awareness, Blood Administration, New Employee Orientation, 21st Century Cures Act, ED Handbook, eCart Training, Chaperone Policy)
    • EPIC testing or training for those with Epic experience
    • Mobile Heartbeat Alarm training (for RNs except certain units)

  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
  • Bi-campus coverage requires flexibility to work at two different hospital locations.
  • Pending licenses are accepted but must be active before starting.
  • Extensive compliance and credentialing requirements must be met prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists seeking a travel contract in a high-acuity, Level I trauma center environment with guaranteed hours and a structured schedule.
