Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health (Travel/Contract)
Location: Largo, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description
- Provide, coordinate, and direct home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
- Supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
- Conduct home visits with periodic office meetings.
- Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
- Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
- Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and agency-required liability insurance.
- Willingness to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic; approximately 200 miles traveled weekly.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- No weekend rotation or on-call required for this position.
- Dress code: Scrubs.
- Charting system: Proficiency required in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and Oasis (for RNs).
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 1 full year of recent Adult Home Health experience OR 1 full year of Hospice experience (depending on specialty).
- First-time travelers not accepted; must have recent specialty experience.
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required.
Certifications
- Current CPR and BLS certification required.
Licensure
- Must have an active nursing license in hand; pending licenses are not accepted.
Skills
- Proficiency with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) within the last 6 months is required.
- RNs must be proficient in Oasis documentation.
Additional Information
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
- Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate for travel between patient homes (commute to/from first and last patient is not billable).
- Some positions may have alternative shift schedules (e.g., 4x10s Friday-Monday), but most are standard 5x8s Monday-Friday.
- Productivity expectations: approximately 32 weekly units.
- Must be willing to complete various compliance, background checks, and health documentation prior to start.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements (Summary)
- Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance (policy must be current and under candidate’s name or list candidate as a driver).
- Background checks including 7-year history, sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific searches as applicable.
- Fingerprinting requirements vary by state.
- Education verification for nursing degree.
- Health documents including:
- Physical exam within 12 months.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months.
- Proof of immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Drug screening (10-panel).
- Flu vaccination or declination.
- COVID vaccination or declination.
- References: Two references required.
- Work history verification for at least the last 7 years or two most recent employers.
- Completion of facility-specific compliance training, policy reviews, and quizzes prior to start.
- Various state-specific forms and attestations depending on assignment location.
