Travel Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech)

Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas

Job Details

  • Shift: Days (5x8, 36 hours per week guaranteed)
  • Number of Openings: 2

  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients by name, introduce self, and provide thorough explanations of procedures.
  • Perform procedures efficiently using good judgment to balance patient and department needs without disrupting schedule.
  • Operate imaging machines safely and properly; understand emergency and radiation safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in producing diagnostic images and recognize technical abnormalities.
  • Select appropriate techniques for each procedure and position patients according to protocol.
  • Prepare and stock rooms for exams; check equipment between patients; order supplies as needed.
  • Clean rooms and equipment between patients, including patient waiting areas.
  • Modify routine procedures as needed based on patient condition, including updating computer systems and submitting charges.
  • Assist in transporting patients and specimens.
  • Assist radiologists or physicians with interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique and fields.
  • Position and immobilize patients; perform exams on outpatients, inpatients, ICU, ER, and trauma patients.
  • Obtain appropriate clinical history and document information; obtain informed consent if necessary.
  • Correctly obtain and administer contrast materials for patient exams.
  • Timely send all images to the Radiology Information Center (RIC).
