Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (no variable shifts)
- Schedule: Block scheduling considered, 2-3 late days per week, no weekend requirement, no on-call
- Potential Float: May float to Cath Lab if experienced
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (Electrophysiology experience preferred)
- Clinical Skills Required:
- Ability to perform electrophysiology studies and ablations
- Function in the scrub role (circulate, scrub, and monitor)
- Certifications: BLS required
- Charting Systems: McKesson and Cerner
- Scrubs: Provided
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (Registered Nurse with electrophysiology skills)
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Typically required for this specialty (verify with agency)
- PALS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification - May be required depending on unit
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam - As applicable
- Pass/Fail Basic Dysrhythmia Exam during orientation (mandatory)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Education verification (official transcript acceptable)
- State license primary source verification (compact licenses accepted if applicable)
- NURSYS verification (for RN, LPN/LVN)
- Drug screening (10 panel or 9 panel without THC) within 60 days prior to start
- Professional references (2 within last 2 years)
- Work history verification (as applicable)
- Pennsylvania-specific: Child Abuse Search and DHS Fingerprint results required within 12 months of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (3M 1870+ model required)
- Current Tdap vaccine or titer
- Negative TB test (Qgold or TSPOT within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine no longer required prior to start; exemptions require mask use at work
Orientation & Facility Specifics
- Facility-specific education modules assigned and must be completed prior to orientation (except for this facility)
- Pass/fail dysrhythmia exam required during orientation; failure results in contract cancellation
- Signed acknowledgements for safety manual and pass/fail testing required
