Description
Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist (Breastcare Services)
Location: Meridian, Idaho
Department: Radiology - Mammography
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Certifications & Requirements
- ARRT certification
- Mammography certification
- BLS certification
- Must have 3-4 years of experience in mammography (higher end of requirement applies)
- Must have completed at least 1-2 prior travel contracts (prior travel experience required)
Department & Equipment
- Screening and Diagnostic mammography services
- Screening equipment: Hologic scanners
- Diagnostic equipment: Hologic scanners and Hologic prone biopsy table with Bravera biopsy device for procedures
- EMR system: EPIC
- PACS system: Change
Work Details
- Will work either screening or diagnostic; no floating between the two
- Screening: Standard screening including implants, special needs patients (wheelchair, walkers), 4D mammograms
- Diagnostic: Breast scans and possible procedures
- Average scans per day:
- Diagnostic: ~14 scans (every 30 minutes)
- Screening: 18-21 scans in 8-hour shift or 21-25 scans in 10-hour shift (additional time for implants and new patients)
Scheduling & Shifts
- Screening shifts:
- 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- 10-hour shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Diagnostic shifts:
- 8-hour shifts varying between 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements: None
- Orientation: 2-3 unit/department specific shifts in addition to general orientation
- Dress code: Any clean, professional scrubs (color flexible)
Additional Information
- Lead tech available but may not be onsite
- No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs)
- Radiologist reads images offsite (batch read)
- No IV starts required
- Department has multiple scanners with several techs per scanner, allowing for team collaboration
This position is ideal for experienced mammography technologists with prior travel contract experience seeking a 13-week assignment in a supportive radiology department.
