Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehab

Location: Harvey, Illinois

Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Rehab
  • Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience (MS experience required)
  • Additional Experience Accepted: LTAC/SNF experience accepted
  • Floating: Required
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5-7
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals Accepted: Yes
  • Pending License: Not accepted
  • Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 7 days
  • Charting System: Epic
  • First-timers Accepted: Yes

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all candidates (AHA provider or AHA RQI accepted; RQI provider like Laerdal not accepted)
  • ACLS, PALS: Required only for specific RN/unit positions (not required for Tele specialty)
  • Other Recommended Certifications:
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) for Nursery, NICU, L&D
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER
    • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) recommended for L&D

Experience Requirements

  • Years of Specialty Experience: 1 year Med Surg experience required
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Documents & Compliance

  • Identification: Driver’s License or State ID
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender, national and federal criminal checks, FACIS 3, OFAC
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification: ADN or BSN required; diploma/transcripts acceptable if verification unavailable
  • State License Verification: Must be verified within 30 days of assignment start
  • NURSYS Verification: Required within 30 days of start for RNs
  • Fingerprinting: Required only if profession does not require Illinois state license; must be done in Illinois and added to IDPH registry
  • References: 2 required
  • Employment History: Resume covering last 7 years; gaps over 30 days must be explained; employment verification required
  • Skills Checklist: Required for assigned and float units, updated annually

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit Mask Test: Required within 1 year of start (specific mask models required)
  • Immunizations & Titers: Must be completed within 2 business days of contract signing
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (proof within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (proof of immunity or vaccination series)
    • Hepatitis B (proof of immunity or vaccination series; declination allowed)
    • Varicella (proof of immunity or vaccination series; declination allowed)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu Vaccination: Required for 2025-26 season unless approved medical or religious exemption is on file

Additional Notes

  • COVID-19 and Influenza vaccine exemption forms (religious and medical) must be completed and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date if applicable.
  • Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and health requirements to be cleared for assignment.

This position is suitable for RNs with at least 1 year of Med Surg experience who are comfortable floating and working every other weekend in a rehab setting using Epic charting. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.
