Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts plus on-call

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required, 5 years preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: Requested (not strictly required, but preferred)
• Licensure: Louisiana state license or Compact license required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required for some specialties (not specifically stated for this role)
  • Other certifications preferred or required depending on area (e.g., CNOR preferred for OR)

Skills & Experience

• Experience in Orthopedics, DaVinci (General Surgery), and Trauma preferred
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced OR environment with call responsibilities

Compliance & Documentation

• Background check: 7-year criminal history check within a year of start, updated annually
• Physical exam: Initial and updated annually, confirming ability to meet physical demands
• Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions reviewed by facility

Additional Notes

• Annual competency exams and facility-specific onboarding documents must be completed prior to start
• Dress code and confidentiality agreements must be acknowledged
• Facility requires annual updates on certain certifications and health documents

This position is ideal for experienced OR Registered Nurses with a background in orthopedics, trauma, and robotic surgery who are interested in a 13-week travel contract in Louisiana. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
