Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description
- Position: IMC Float RN
- Shift Options: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts (1900-0730)
- Float required to Medical-Surgical (MS), Intermediate Care (IMC), and Emergency Department (ED) Boarder as needed
- Responsibilities include caring for ED borders and inpatient units
- Every 3rd weekend required
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (MS/Tele and Cardiac Tele experience required)
- ER holding experience required
- Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
- ACLS & BLS certifications required
- CPI & NIHSS certifications preferred
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
- Relias Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual update required)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) preferred
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) preferred
Additional Requirements
- Valid state nursing license required prior to start
- Background checks including criminal history, education verification, and federal/state screenings required
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunization and health documentation required:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start and updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
Work History & References
- Two positive supervisory references required, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Must have at least 2 years of employment in the past 7 years, preferably the most recent 2 years
Notes
- Locals within 60 miles may be accepted at a different rate (not applicable here)
- Facility-specific orientation modules and safety manual acknowledgements required prior to start
- Candidate must be prepared to float across multiple units including MS, MS/Tele, IMC, and ED Boarder
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with strong telemetry and emergency department skills who have prior travel experience and are comfortable floating across multiple units in a fast-paced environment.
