Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract) - Baltimore, Maryland
Job Overview

- Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts (0700-1930)
- Floating required to Medical-Surgical (MS), Intermediate Care (IMC), and Emergency Department (ED) Border units as needed
- Every 3rd weekend required
Unit Experience & Requirements
- Experience required in:
- Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
- Cardiac Telemetry
- Emergency Room (ER) holding
- Float assignments include MS, MS/Tele, IMC, and ED Border units
Certifications & Exams
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA or ARC)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) & NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) preferred
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience required
- Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
Compliance & Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification for highest degree required by position
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
- Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within last year (or as applicable)
- Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
- Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella vaccine or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 3 years, minimum 80% score
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually with minimum 80% overall and 100% lethal rhythms score
Additional Notes
- Valid driver's license required if driving is an essential job function
- Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed prior to start
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual required
- Some certifications such as PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM may be required based on unit assignment
- Candidates must be prepared to float between multiple units as needed
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with strong telemetry and ER holding experience who are comfortable floating across multiple units and have prior travel nursing experience.
