Description

Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Kingsport, Tennessee
Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Work schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
  • Call schedule: 2 call nights per week and one weekend every 3-4 weeks
  • Block scheduling accommodations available
  • Work primarily in the cath lab with responsibilities assisting in Electrophysiology (EP) including circulating and monitoring
  • Must be able to circulate EP cases involving devices and EPS/Ablations (Claris, CARTO, EnsiteX, Cryo, PFA)
  • Experience with Siemens Sensis/Epic and Philips Systems preferred
  • Facility includes 2 Cath Labs, 1 Structural/PV Lab, and 2 EP Labs
  • Permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
  • Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable training, starting on Sundays (online CBLs)
  • Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
  • Additional overtime shifts may be available and flexed as needed
  • Contract team members expected to participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse with circulating and monitoring experience preferred in Electrophysiology (EP)

  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) required
  • National Certification/Verification as applicable (e.g., Certified Surgical Techs)
  • Annual Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
  • Education verification required
  • Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed/certified in TN or working at TN facility
  • Photo for badge required within 48 hours of contract signing (ID photo standards apply)
  • Completion of facility-specific forms including dress code, uniform guidelines, contaminated sharps and body fluid exposure statement, smoking and tobacco use policy, influenza policy, and flu exemption requests if applicable
  • Respirator medical evaluation questionnaire and clearance forms required within 48 hours of contract signing
  • CDC Facial Hair Guidelines for Respirator Use must be reviewed

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
  • Fit mask testing completed onsite; previous fit tests from non-facility sources not accepted
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable (2 PPDs within last 12 months or QGold/TSPOT within 3 months)
  • MMR titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) required; documentation of boosters accepted if low immunity
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination accepted
  • Varicella titer required; documentation of boosters accepted if low immunity
  • Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start (instant test acceptable as placeholder)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)
