Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cardiology/Cardiac Procedures)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Care for pre/post patients undergoing cardiac procedures
• Patient diagnoses focus on cardiology and cardiac procedures
• Special procedures include:

  • Left Heart Catheterization (LHC)
  • Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • Ablations
  • Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE)
  • Cardioversion
  • Loop recorders
  • Pacemakers
  • Vascular procedures
• Use of special equipment such as vein finder and bladder scanner
• Shifts are 10 hours, either 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM (shift depends on experience and will be discussed during interview)
• Preferred candidates have PACU or Pre/Post Op experience

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Registered Nurse with cardiology/cardiac procedures experience)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not a first-time traveler; prior travel experience required
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Uniform: Scrubs in royal blue or white

Important Notes

• Upon assignment acceptance, you may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" with expectations to stay onsite during emergency events or be part of relief teams. Candidates must be comfortable with this requirement.
• Background checks, license verifications, and various health and competency documents are required prior to start.
• Physical exam and fit mask testing are required within specified timeframes.
• Immunizations and screenings required include:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (as applicable)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity verification
  • Hepatitis B and Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Drug screening (10 panel) required within 60 days of start
• Skills checklist and employment application required, including 7 years of employment history and explanation of gaps
