Job Opportunity: Temporary Pharmacist (Retail, Days)

Job Description

• Provide patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary setting alongside pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare personnel.
• Assess patient therapy for appropriateness, including age-specific modifications and clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events.
• Conduct clinical research and participate in professional development programs.
• Oversee and maintain adequate medication inventory.
• Develop and update department and nursing policies.
• Orientation: 8 hours (non-billable).
• Holiday and overtime multipliers apply (1.25%).
• Charge and call, call-back not applicable.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of extensive acute care clinical experience.
  • Retail pharmacy experience required.
• Education & Certification:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
  • Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology is strongly preferred.
  • Board Certification Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) is strongly preferred.
• Licenses:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacy license in good standing required.
  • Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision within established policies.
  • Capable of supervising support personnel.
  • Experience with specialty pharmacy medication management.
• Other:

  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (travelers within 50 miles will not be considered).
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

• Pharmacy automated medication dispensing systems

• Ancillary IV room equipment and programs (infusion pumps, Dose Edge, Simplify797)
• Syringes, needles, graduates, calculators
• Vocera Badge
• Fax machine

Important Notes

• Requested time off (RTO) during the assignment must be noted and verified at the time of profile upload; no more than 5 days of RTO allowed.
• RTO requests after profile submission will not be approved.
• At least two specific interview dates/times must be provided; "anytime" is not accepted.
• All scheduling requests must be made at submission; requests after offer may lead to rescinded offers.
